Get to know Internist Dr. Peter P. Ramirez, who serves patients in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Being a board-certified internist, Dr. Ramirez’s interests include adult medicine, preventive medicine and wellness, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. At present, he is affiliated with the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland, serving patients from the entire Baltimore-Annapolis corridor and surrounding areas, including Severna Park and Millersville.

A 1991 graduate of the Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Ramirez went on to complete his internship at Crozer Chester Medical Center in 1992. This was followed by a residency in internal medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital in 1994. He served as Assistant Chief Medical Resident at Hahnemann University Hospital from 1993-1994, and as Chief Medical Resident at Hahnemann University Hospital from 1994-1995.

Dedicated to clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a member of The Maryland State Medical Society.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists.
