Why do chiropractors require so many visits?
Good question. Typically it depends on the patient, the mechanism of injury along with the severity of the issue. Some patients require more than others. When the body is seeing and embracing the realignment to which the adjustment does, along with the muscular retraining which is extremely important for the amount of in-office visits. In my practice, I chose to have the patient do a lot of at-home work, therefore that equates to fewer in-office visits. However, if it is a severe muscle injury along with spinal misalignment, it will take more in-office visits where we use modalities to help the muscle bellies and encourage body overcoming the injury. Is going to the chiropractor 3 times a week too much?
Great question. That all depends upon the mechanism of injury, the time frame to which care was sought out, and if it has been a pre-existing injury. It is hard to tell that without knowing all the facts. READ MORE
Do you have to take your clothes off for chiropractor?
Good morning. No it is generally not a requirement for a person to undress for a Chiropractic visit. In my practice I am able to do and utilize all my tools through a typical T-shirt. In other offices of my classmates, I know that they choose to continue the process to which we were taught and went through and they will provide a gown for their patient to utilize at their appointments. How can I stop my shoulders from hurting at night?
I would seek out the help of a medical professional with this first and then you would be able to possibly treat with a course of at home remedies. Until and clinical diagnosis has been made through evaluation of the chief complaint, it is difficult to answer this question. Go seek out your medically trained expert before trying anything you find on the internet. READ MORE
Can a chiropractor help shoulder tendonitis?
Yes we have ways to help shoulder tendonitis. Generally in our office we have many different therapeutic options to our disposal. A general evaluation must be done first. READ MORE
How long does it take for a torn meniscus to heal on its own?
This question is almost impossible to answer. Each patient is different and their are a lot of variabilities to the bodies ability to heal in time. Follow your Doctor's orders and their timetable should be close to the answer you're seeking. READ MORE
Is it good to crack your back?
While it may feel better, you are possibly creating a bigger issue. I would refrain from cracking your own back and going to your Chiropractor as we have trained for many years to learn how to properly care for patients. READ MORE
Can you go to a chiropractor for foot pain?
Absolutely. With a proper examination, history and assessment a Chiropractor is able to help the patient or refer the patient in the right direction to further address the problem. There are multiple avenues that the Doctor can go down for treatment should there not be a medical reason to refer on. READ MORE
How do you realign your elbow?
Interesting question. I personally wouldn't recommend trying to do it yourself. I am sure that there are YouTube videos to show you how but there is a specific technique that a Licensed Chiropractor has learned in their studies of how the body works. Speaking anatomically, there is a lot going on in the elbow, which is why it can be a source of pain for so many. At the same time, you may be experiencing a soft tissue issue and not even realize it as it seems that the pain is stemming specifically from the elbow joint. Best advice, find a Chiropractor that will do extremity adjusting and have them examine and decide what and where the complaint physically originates. READ MORE
What do chiropractors do to treat back pain?
Great question. A Chiropractic Doctor will utilize diagnostic skills to single out through orthopedic testing where the specific lesion lies within the back that is causing the patient discomfort. Once the Doctor has narrowed down the possible tissues where the lesion may lie, diagnostic orthopedic testing will begin to enable us to recreate the patient's chief complaint. Once all these steps have been done, if an adjustment is warranted, the Doctor will then put to work the skills that were taught to us in our adjusting labs for the 6 trimesters of school. These take into consideration any special that the Doctor may utilize to safely and effectively treat the patient's chief complaint. READ MORE
What do sports chiropractors do?
That's a great question. Generally speaking it is a Chiropractic Doctor that not only will work with general Chiropractic patients, but also will spend time working with the athletic population as well. We may work a little more soft tissue or active muscle techniques to compliment the Chiropractic Care most athletes generally already use. All current NFL and MLB teams employ a Chiropractor as part of their medical teams. READ MORE
Is it good to massage a pulled hamstring?
I'd suggest getting a definitive diagnosis to ensure there is no structural damage. This will allow you to make the best choices of optimal treatment. READ MORE
My shoulder pain is getting worse without chiropractic?
Depending on what your Chiropractor does and if the pain is coming from a subluxation of your shoulder to which your Doctor addresses it during appointments, this could be part of your problem. Hope that helps you! Get back in and see your Doctor! READ MORE
How does a chiropractor adjust your pelvis?
If the pelvis is subluxed there is a specific technique that we use to adjust the pubis symphysis. It is part of your Doctor's student training. READ MORE
How do you pop your middle back?
I'd recommend going to a professional who is trained in how to properly address the issue that you are asking about. When we "pop" our neck/back more often than not we are taking what is a problem on one side of the spine and although you gain relief, you have just introduced a future problem on the opposite of the spine that will need to be "popped" later. This is why we use specific techniques in our field. Hope that answers your question! READ MORE
Can spinal misalignment cause anxiety?
It absolutely has the ability to. Spinal misalignment begits stress on the soft tissues. Stress on the soft tissue brings discomfort. Prolonged discomfort will lead to sleep issues and overall poor sleep hygiene. Our bodies "reboot" when we sleep. If they can't reboot, the body can't clear out the stress and increased stressors will eventually create a more anxious individual. It's called the Pain cycle. Not a good place to be! Hope that helps! READ MORE
Can a chiropractor help a dislocated rib?
Absolutely! First the Doctor will make sure that is what in fact your problem is and will utilize a specific technique for the issue found in examination! READ MORE
How do I stop my shoulder from hurting when I sleep?
That would depend on how you're sleeping to begin with. Followed by a recommendation of going to a qualified health professional to have the shoulder examined to make sure that there is not a problem somewhere within the region. Hope that answers your question! READ MORE
