How do cortisone injections work for carpal tunnel?
Corticosteroid, or cortisone, injections for carpal tunnel syndrome is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent that can be injected into the carpal tunnel. Get to know Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Carolyn Yang, who serves patients in Portland, Oregon.
A reputable orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Yang is certified to provide comprehensive care to the upper extremity, as well as able to diagnose and treat conditions of the elbow, wrist and hand. Upon his retirement, she will be taking over Dr. Mark Buehler’s practice upon his retirement on January 1, 2021. She is available for consultations as of September 1, 2020.
A 2006 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Yang went on to perform her residency in orthopaedic surgery at the same educational venue in 2011. This was followed by a fellowship in hand, elbow, and upper extremity at the University of California, San Francisco in 2012.
Upon completing her training, Dr. Yang practiced at Northwest Permanente, P.C. and most recently, at ZOOM+Care as the Orthopaedics Lead.
Dedicated to excellence, she is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and surgery of the hand by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), Dr. Yang is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Oregon Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, the American Medical Association, and the American Association for Hand Surgery.
