Get to know Podiatrist Dr.  Sara Sharma, who serves patients in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

A highly trained podiatrist, Dr. Sharma is known for her compassion, understanding, and comprehensive experience for patients under her care. She practices alongside Dr. Stuart R. Snyder, DPM, at Maple Springs Foot Center, LLC in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Satisfying individual foot-care needs, Maple Springs Foot Center, LLC provides complete foot & ankle care for the entire family. Its goal is to provide patient-centered podiatric medicine and foot surgery for effective, long-lasting healing.

The skilled podiatric specialists, Drs. Snyder and Sharma, are highly trained in diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the foot and ankle. They offer complete diabetic foot care as well as footwear for those with diabetes. They partner with their patients to find solutions for heel, foot and ankle pain, sports injuries, corns and calluses, ingrown toenails, bunions, hammertoes, ankle sprains, stress fractures, warts, and cysts.

Originally from the Northern Virginia area, Dr. Sharma received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She attended Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine for her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree and completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Jefferson- Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey. 

During her time in residency, she was accepted and presented three case studies of research on new and innovative rear foot and ankle reconstruction at national conferences. She also participated in a mini fellowship in Alpharetta, Georgia with Bako Pathology for podiatric dermatopathology. 

Board-certified in foot surgery, Dr. Sharma is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, which exists to offer podiatric physicians a comprehensive board qualification and certification process. 

An Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, she is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association.

Interested in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb salvage, and podiatric dermatology, Dr. Sharma is affiliated with Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center and Maple Springs Ambulatory Surgical Center.

In her free time, Dr. Sharma enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and playing with her dog. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
