  • How should I sleep with shoulder pain?

The most important question is: How do I heal my shoulder and get rid of my pain in the most natural way? Regarding your sleep -- sleep on your back with a low pillow so you are not bending your neck forward or the new name, especially when standing or sitting is "flex neck" which can also add to your pain by nerve compression. Now, the "do nots" -- do not sleep with the painful shoulder down if you like to sleep on your side -- sleep with the other shoulder down AND do not sleep on your stomach (face down). NOW! Depending on why is your shoulder hurting -- accident, fall, sports injury, etc., find a good chiropractor, especially a sports chiropractor, upper cervical chiropractor, or Applied Kinesiology (AK) chiropractor and find the cause of your pain and the proper and natural way to help return your body to optimum health. • How many chiropractic sessions do I need for neck pain?

It is impossible to answer your question without an examination and imaging (if necessary). The range could be from 1-12 to 35, depending on the cause of your neck pain. My suggestion is to visit a local chiropractor for a consultation. Dr. Bill READ MORE

  • Can you pop your chest?

"Popping" your chest is not a good idea since you must be feeling some sort of restriction, compression, lack of motion, difficulty in breathing, etc. Thus you are only guessing at the true cause. Remember, your chest includes your sternum, ribs, and muscles and is designed to support and protect the heart, lungs, and other crucial organs. It is best to visit your local chiropractor for an examination, evaluation, and a possible adjustment that is necessary and safe for you; otherwise, you may be given some advice for personal care or a referral to another proper healthcare professional. • Does going to a chiropractor feel good?

To me, even before I became a Chiropractor, I always look forward to my chiropractic visits. The adjustments are intended to help the body move closer to positive communication of the nervous system, thus greater function of your body. READ MORE

  • Can you see a chiropractor for wrist pain?

Yes, please understand not all chiropractors work with extremities. It is good to also understand that a pain anywhere in the body does not mean that is the area causing the pain. For example, a pain in the wrist may be caused by nerve issues in the neck, or other places in the shoulder, elbow, etc. It is best to call a chiropractic office and ask if they work with extremities prior to making an appointment. • How long does knee adjustment take?

This is a non-answerable question as you have not provided any report on the condition of the knee. Sometimes, depending on age, activity, overall health condition, and the reason the knee is troublesome -- is it from a recent or old injury, or are there other factors. Sometimes, just some work and support on the foot, ankle, or any of the knee bones, muscles and or joints will help and sometimes it may be chronic or a very serious acute injury and may require surgery and/or rehabilitation. First thing is to consult with a sports-related chiropractor and get the knee evaluated. READ MORE

  • Can a chiropractor help with upper thigh pain?

Muscles are responsive to your nervous system, therefore, your body should be checked for nerve interference in your spine, which chiropractors identify as a "subluxation." If this is occurring, especially in your lumbar spine, your thigh muscles could be directly involved. Therefore, a visit to your chiropractor would be a good and logical item to start with in your search for help with your thigh muscles. The chiropractor should also be able to refer you to another professional health care worker if they are unable to help you! READ MORE

  • How often should I get adjusted by a chiropractor?

There is no one answer to your question since I have no information about your lifestyle, your history, and your overall health. Some individuals, based upon their health and accident history, their lifestyle, etc., may, in the beginning, need care 3-5 times a week for a period of time. READ MORE

  • Do you have to take your clothes off for chiropractor?

If you were asked to remove your outer garments, you would be provided with a gown to wear, however not all chiropractors require the removal of clothing. If this is a concern of yours, be sure to ask that question when you make your first appointment. READ MORE

  • Do ankle sprains ever fully heal?

Ankle sprains will heal, however the healing may not include returning to your original position, movement, or function. An early visit to a chiropractor who includes working with extremeties, as not all do, should assist in proper functional healing. READ MORE

  • Why does my ankle feel like it needs to pop but won't?

The question is what happened when you felt your ankle change and need help? Was it during a special activity, just resting, was it "twisted," did you step onto something that you did not see? Have you changed activities? Questions like this come from a Doctor of Chiropractic (although not all chiropractors work with anything beyond the spine so you will have to call offices and ask) in seeking information and this is followed by an complete exam.Your ankle problem may be from a different part of your body and your ankle is just a remote symptom. • Can massage make a pinched nerve worse?

Under the hands of a trained massage therapist after a thorough consultation and evaluation, it is doubtful that your "pinched nerve" would be damaged and made worse. The next question, of course, is how do you know that the diagnosis is a "pinched nerve" and would suggest you consult a Doctor of Chiropractic, if you have not already done so. READ MORE

  • How long does it take to fix bad posture?

To the 28-year-old with bad posture, I'm sure that you would recognize that this is not an answerable question based upon the information provided. Your age is possibly a positive element, however, without a complete examination and history, it is not possible to answer the question since we do not have any quality information regarding your situation. I recommend that you make an appointment with a local Doctor of Chiropractic and then you would have informed information. READ MORE

  • Which shoulder is higher in scoliosis?

The nature of the scoliosis will determine the high shoulder. If the top curve is on the left, this will pull that shoulder down and the right will appear higher. Naturally, if the top curve is on the right, the left shoulder will appear higher. READ MORE

  • Is it good to crack your back?

It is never good to "crack" your back and neither do Chiropractors. However, after a thorough evaluation, the Doctor will explain your situation and how he/she can help you with the proper Chiropractic Adjustments. READ MORE

  • How do I know if my knee is out of alignment?

Once that is completed, the Doctor will give you a Report of Findings to explain is your knee of out of alignment.
