et to know Vascular & Interventional Radiologist Dr. Michelle Maneevese, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Maneevese is a fellowship-trained vascular & interventional radiologist at Alate Health in Houston, Texas. Her practice focuses on women’s health — uterine fibroid embolization, fertility, and pelvic pain — men’s health — urinary symptoms related to an enlarged prostate — as well as a special interest in peripheral arterial disease that causes leg pain, ulcers, and varicose veins.
With more than 30 years of collective experience, the highly trained interventional radiologists at Alate Health deliver precise, targeted treatments to complex and sometimes life-threatening diseases and conditions. Areas they specialize in include uterine fibroids, peripheral arterial disease, varicose veins, and pelvic congestion syndrome. The team also provides innovative solutions for other medical conditions like migraines and chronic back pain.
From the minute the patient calls the office at Alate health, Dr. Maneevese takes a hands-on and proactive approach in their care, treating them as she would her own family. She also speaks Vietnamese to better serve Houston’s substantial Vietnamese population.
Her acclaimed career in medicine began after she received her education and training at the University of Texas at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center. She then completed her training in interventional radiology at Yale New Haven Hospital, with some of the world’s leading experts in prostate artery embolization.
Wholeheartedly caring for the patient as a whole, Dr. Maneevese is currently one of only a few female providers of uterine artery embolization (UAE) in all of Texas and the only female provider of UAE in Houston. She is also an active member of the Harris County Medical Society.
Interventional radiology is a medical specialization that involves performing a range of imaging procedures to obtain images of the inside of the body. Vascular & interventional radiologists focus on diseases of the blood vessels and lymphatic system, but also treat other conditions such as cancer and infertility. They perform minimally invasive treatments that have less risk, pain, and recovery time compared to open surgery.
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Maneevese can be found working on global health initiatives. She is passionate about bringing interventional radiology to countries that lack access to care and travels at least once a year to Tanzania to perform minimally invasive procedures for their underserved population and also to train local physicians.
