Get to know Oncologist Dr. Anne Meier, who serves patients in Dyer and Hobart, Indiana.

Dr. Meier is a board-certified oncologist at Northwest Oncology, P.C., which is the most advanced oncology group in Northwest Indiana. She sees patients at the offices in Dyer and Hobart.

A part of Community Healthcare System, she is affiliated with Community Hospital (Munster), St. Mary Medical Center (Hobart), and St. Catherine Hospital (East Chicago). With a broad educational background, Dr. Meier graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Saint Mary’s College in 2010. She then went on to earn her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2014.

Furthering her training, she completed her residency at Cleveland Clinic in 2017. She also served her fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

An oncologist is a doctor who treats cancer and provides medical care for a person diagnosed with cancer. They lead a cancer treatment team of various healthcare professionals, treat patients with radiation therapy, coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as assist patients with pain management.
