What is the treatment for hammer toe?
If the pain has come on relatively suddenly, It would be best to have a doctor evaluate the foot to rule out any injuries such as a stress fracture. Assuming her pain is due to the hammertoes displacing the fat pad and putting a downward pressure on the weight bearing metatarsals, the first treatment would be an insole with special padding to take pressure off the ball of her feet. If she continues to have pain, there is surgery to reduce the hammertoes READ MORE
I get cramps in my foot very frequently. What could be wrong?
If the cramps are only in the feet, they may be caused by and imbalance in your feet and would improve with more support - custom orthotics or a good insole. There can be several other causes - make sure you are drinking plenty of water, and you can try taking a Magnesium supplement. If they continue a Rx muscle relaxant may be a consideration. READ MORE
Is this just a bruise or something more on my toenail?
If it came on suddenly especially after an activity that was not in your usual schedule it is most likely to be a bruise. Bruises under the nail can take a long time to resolve, but you should see the discolored area move forward as the nail grows. If the spot does not appear to be growing out with time (several months - it takes about 8-9 for a fully new nail) it would be good to have it looked at. READ MORE
Can bath salts help in treating heel pain?
Soaking may give some temporary relief, but will not cure the problem. Most likely you need more support with either a better shoe, with a good insert or an orthotic. Stretching your calf and the bottom of the foot may also help. I recommend seeing a podiatrist to have an exam and xrays to rule out issues such as a stress fracture READ MORE

Can flat feet make your back hurt?
Yes - your feet are one of the best shock absorbers in your body. However, if your feet are flat, that will decrease your feet's ability to absorb shock, therefore will cause more shock to go up into your back. In addition, poor alignment of your feet also alters the leg position and hip position and therefore can add to your back pain. READ MORE
