Dr. Okoroafor, a licensed psychiatrist, is the Medical Director of Central Point Psychiatry in Las Vegas, Nevada. She works on the psychological well-being of men and women, with an ability to identify and treat all of the different types of psychological illnesses.
Continuously advancing her efforts, she is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association (Fellow), the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine, and the Nevada Psychiatric Association.
Born and raised in Nigeria, Dr. Okoroafor initially completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria before studying medicine in the Ukraine. In 1996, she graduated with her medical degree from Vinnytsia National Pirogov Medical University. She had initially practised as an Internist with various NHS Hospitals in the United Kingdom , prior to relocation to the USA. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and residency in psychiatry at NYC Health + Hospitals / Harlem, and her fellowship at Westchester Medical Center, New York Medical College.
With over 25 years of experience, the doctor is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Licensed to practice medicine in Nevada and New York, Dr. Okoroafor is also affiliated with Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services.
Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. Her passion for writing had since culminated in the publication of 7 books: A Rose in Bloom, Pathos of a Wilting Rose, prequel and sequel respectively; Whimsical Rhapsody and Emotive Napalm; 2 collections of poems; and 2 children books, Inem’s Folklore Series: The Tortoise and the Birds, Adventures of Nana Jill : At the bakery and Broken Promise and other stories, a collection of short stories. The major themes in her books are for the emancipation and equity of society.
On a more personal note, Dr. Okoroafor is an avid traveler who has lived in 4 different countries and travelled to over 30 others.
