Born and raised in the Kansas city area, Dr. Hatutian graduated from Southwest High School in 1977. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the school orchestra where he excelled at playing the violin. He then went on to attend Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1981. He was a member of Beta Beta Beta Biological Society and Kappa Alpha fraternity.
At Westminster, Dr. Hatutian developed an interest in the microbiological cause of dental caries. He pursued his studies at the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1986. He began his dental practice in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1986 and a few years later, in 1991, opened his Overland Park practice at its present location on College Boulevard.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Happily married for over three decades, Dr. Hatutian and his wife, Nancy, have three children together. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and enjoys sports, travelling, especially to Colorado and Florida, and fishing, especially fly fishing.
