Balveen (Biba) Singh, DO, earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 2005 after being accepted into a 7-year program at the age of 18 at attended the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She served her internship at St. Vincent’s Midtown Hospital and conducted her psychiatry residency at Richmond University Medical Center (2006-2010). Following the completion of her training, she joined Orange Regional Medical Center, now Garnet Health Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Singh received board certification in psychiatry from the American Osteopathic Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (AOBPN). She feels that her success is attributable primarily to many people around her who represent a very strong support system. She could not be where she is without them. It is the quest for knowledge, along with the love to heal, whether it be in medicine or music, which keeps her going. It is also the art of balance that she had to learn over time which has helped. Dr. Singh began musical training at the age of 5. At the age of 18, Balveen (Biba) Singh, DO, was asked to tour in India with a famous Bollywood singer and to sign a 3-year contract at the same time when she was accepted into a 7-year medical program at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. A crucial moment in her life, when, despite her passion for singing, she chose to complete her education. While a resident physician, she started working on her first music album in India, which was released in 2009. She continues to also sing in Bollywood and performs and travels often. Dr. Singh has made music a priority and visits India every 2-3 months. She performs professionally, records, and has released multiple singles and albums. She has TV show, Rhythm of Healing, on Jus Punjabi Network played all over the world.
