With a broad educational background, Dr. Sharma graduated from dental school in India in 1985. Thereafter, he went on to do postgraduate studies in prosthodontics at Banaras Hindu University in 1992. He moved to the United States in 1995 and went to attend the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis to complete his Master of Science degree in Dentistry (Geriatric General Dentistry).
In 1998, he received his dental license in the United States and has been practicing dentistry since then. He continues to improve his knowledge and skills by attending various programs in the United States and abroad. He has been to Brazil, Australia, Dubai, Switzerland, Germany, and various cities in the United States like San Diego, Boston, New York, Portland, and Los Angeles (to name a few) to improve his skills in implants, orthodontics, and endodontics.
Among his professional dental affiliations, Dr. Sharma is a member of the American Dental Association, the Southern Alameda County Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, and the California Dental Association.
Driven to constantly improve his knowledge in the area of dentistry, he frequently attends educational conferences and professional society meetings to learn about the latest advancements in the field and offer these techniques and technologies to patients.
“I strongly believe that patient education is an important part of the services I provide. In addition to talking with patients during exams and throughout the course of treatment regimens, I have provided extensive information on the conditions, treatments, and procedures relating to dentistry” stated Dr. Sharma.

Happily married, Dr. Sharma lives in Pleasanton with his wife, Cristina, and two boys, Viraj and Aaryan. When he is not working, he loves to spend time with his family. He speaks multiple languages, including English, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, and Punjabi.
