Broken toe?
Definitely go to a podiatrist to confirm there is a fracture on x-ray and also to gauge if it is in acceptable alignment. For now, tape the two toes together and wear a stiff sole shoe to minimize bending. READ MORE

Can flat feet make your back hurt?

How can I prevent getting bunions after surgery?
Honestly, the most important aspect would be procedure selection. If the bunion procedure performed was appropriate for your level of deformity you should have little to no concerns for it coming back. However if they "under-corrected" or there is a rotation component to the bunion you have an increased chance of it coming back. A good custom orthotic could control pronation which might reduce the chances, but it's all about what type of surgery you had for your specific bunion. READ MORE
Is a chiropractor good for ankle pain?
Typically not the specialist you would need unless there as specific capsule joint adhesions a chiropractor can break up. You would first benefit from an accurate diagnosis to see what you are treating. Make an appointment with a Podiatrist for a comprehensive work up, not every diagnosis is straightforward to make, may require x rays, MRI or ultrasound in addition to clinical exam in the office. READ MORE
Wrong orthotics?
I am sorry for your experience. Most often, orthotics make a significant improvement to your limb alignment, gait and help improve pain. Sometimes they can overcorrect your alignment which has compensated over years and actually contribute to increased pain. My recommendation would be to remove them for several weeks, I expect your knee pain to improve. Maybe wear them for 1-2 hours a day for a week and become accustomed to them. If they still contribute to significant pain , they are not the right device for you. READ MORE

What are the symptoms of heel bursitis?
If you have pain to the bottom of the heel this is likely fasciitis versus a bursitis, inflammation surrounding the bony attachment of the plantar fascia ( a long ligament like structure that supports our arch). Bursitis in the back of the heel in comparison is common, often a tender area surrounding the Achilles’ tendon insertion ... a bursa can form in areas of irritation, increased pressures, abnormal forces. A clinical exam in person can tell us a lot of information as well as a detailed exam of how is started and what it feels like. I hope that gives some clarity ! READ MORE
How long does it take to realign a sprained ankle?
In my experience 90% of ankle sprains heal with conservative measures. Bracing and stability in the initial stages to prevent healing in a loose or lax position, taking anti inflammatories for the pain. However, early functional rehab needs to be started to practice balance , proprioception, and strengthening of the surrounding muscles. All these will help you regain a strong, stable ankle. Certain underlying structural deformities will however make you prone for spraining your ankle, it is important you to be aware of your own foot type , is it one that is naturally prone to an inversion type injury. Additional measures may be needed in such a scenario. READ MORE
