Get to know Orthodontist and Pediatric Dentist Dr. Steven Solow, who serves patients in Pennsylvania.

A skilful orthodontist and pediatric dentist in Wynnewood and Philadelphia, Dr. Solow serves infants, children, and teens in the surrounding cities of Havertown, Drexel Hill, and Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. He focuses on preventive care to help each child grow a healthy smile that will last a lifetime. 

With over 30 years of clinical experience with children, he is currently one of only three specialists in the state of Pennsylvania practicing both specialties with certificates in Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry (his partners, Drs. Scott Solow and Alex Rosner are the other two).

Graduating with his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Solow went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. His specialty training consists of several years at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania, after which he received certificates in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. The training consisted of care not only for the healthy child, but also in care of the handicapped and medically compromised patient. 

A former Assistant Professor at University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Solow is currently on staff at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Association of Orthodontics.

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. Orthodontists are responsible for identifying problems with the positioning of a patient’s teeth and with their oral development. They utilize the most advanced procedures and equipment available to ensure that every patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile. 

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. A pediatric dentist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the dental problems of children from infancy to young adulthood. They usually care for special needs patients as well.

Chosen by the readers of the Main Line Times as both Top Pediatric Dentist and Top Orthodontist, some of Dr. Solow’s most notable achievements include: college – elected member of Friars Senior Honor Society; two time All Ivy Football, University of Pennsylvania; three time All Ivy Lacrosse, University of Pennsylvania; 2nd team All American Lacrosse Team Midfielder; Lacrosse Captain, elected to the University of Pennsylvania Lacrosse Hall of Fame; dental school – early graduation with highest honors, elected member of OKU Honor Society; Best of Philly Pediatric Dentistry; and Patients’ Choice Award (2018).

On a more personal note, he speaks both English and Spanish.
