It’s probably erythema ab igne if she has had a heating pad there or some other heat source present at the site. If not you should see a board-certified dermatologist soon. That type of appearance can be vasculitis or vasculopathy which is important to have evaluated. READ MORE

  • Scaly legs

Hard to say without a photo but I would Imagine it is dry skin - ichthyosis vulgaris. Use NO soap over the arms and legs. After the shower use a nice thick moisturizer. If this isn’t helping try “wet wraps” where you put on the moisturizer and then a damp cloth such as long sleeve shirt or pants - pajamas. If that’s doesn’t help - see a board certified dermatologist. Wishing you the best. READ MORE

  • I have these spots showing up all over my body

It's not PR or tinea. Its low likelihood to be anything bad but seeing a board certified dermatologist in person would likely lead to a specific diagnosis. A visit with a dermatologist would likely only cost 100 dollars or so (without insurance) - just call ahead and ask. I think a lot of folks think that doctors somehow cost an arm and a leg - we charge less than a dentist, and less than most who are artisans or tradesmen(women). Less than a visit to your local mechanic, plumber, or electrician. READ MORE

  • Possible hair loss?

You should try to see a board certified dermatologist to evaluate your hair. There are many reasons for hair loss and only an expert can truly help with deciphering why you are experiencing loss. READ MORE

  • I have been suffering from all over itchiness on my body and scalp. I don’t see any bugs or nits. I have a crawling sensation with a stinging and biting feeling all over as well. What could this be?

Make sure you are seeing a board certified dermatologist. They can get to the bottom of your issue - if not switch to a different dermatologist and find one that can. You will find a solution to your problem. READ MORE

  • Cracked lips

Vaseline light coat overnight. Best, JJC READ MORE

  • Does scratching cause hyperpigmentation?

That can certainly happen. Start with sun protection which is the most important then consider medications that have hydroquinone. Over the counter consider vitamin C. Best JJC READ MORE

  • What is this?

More than likely a milia. Typically requires needle or scalpel to open and evacuate Best JJC READ MORE

  • Dermatologist question?

You will be seen soon. It can be tough but try not to worry. Lots of moles have different colors. Good decision to go see an expert to ensure you get evaluated. READ MORE

  • What is the best cream for hair loss?

    Topical minoxidil READ MORE

  • Cyst removal?

There are lots of different “injections” / medications that we can use for anesthesia (numbing). I would ask which ones you have had before - consider a different one. Also just let them know to give it time to wait. Usually takes about 15 minutes to fully set. Also, don’t get a removal when it’s red and inflamed. It is an acidic environment and therefore the anesthesia does not work well. In my experience, many patients demand to have a cyst removed while it is red and inflamed - not a good time. READ MORE

  • Are these stretch marks?

Those are not stretch marks. They could be a sign of vasculitis. You need to see a dermatologist ASAP. Blood work and biopsy need to be done. Hope all goes well, JJC READ MORE

  • Concerning the repetitive use of anti-fungal?

You are fine to continue using it. Your derm should have told you that it was a chronic problem and would require continued use to prevent it. And this is totally safe to do - based. READ MORE

  • I have skin irritation?

See a Board-certified dermatologist. If those have been there for two years without going away they may need a biopsy. READ MORE
