Born in Pennsylvania, Dr. Harvey moved to Texas with his seven brothers and sisters before beginning high school. He graduated from Rockwall High School and then moved to Ecuador for two years where he served a mission for his church. While there, he helped serve the people of Ecuador and learned fluent Spanish. After returning to the United States, he graduated with honors from Brigham Young University with a degree in Biology. He then attended Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. 

Following dental school, he completed an additional three-year residency in periodontics in Dallas, where he received a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology and Certificate of Periodontology. The residency provided advanced training in periodontal surgeries, dental implants, and oral medicine. He also received extensive training in dental anesthesiology and pain management.  

A member of numerous dental organizations, Dr. Harvey is affiliated with the American Academy of Periodontology, the Southwest Society of Periodontists, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society.  

Periodontics is the dental specialty focusing exclusively on the inflammatory disease that destroys the gums and other supporting structures around the teeth. A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement of dental implants.

In his free time, Dr. Harvey enjoys spending time with his wife, Lacey, and his son, Nathaniel. He likes to watch the food network and attempts to be a chef by trying out new recipes for his family. He also enjoys games of all kinds, including competitive board games, card games, and video games.
