After having spent 15 years as a member of the faculty at the University of Michigan Medical School and 22 years as a member of the faculty at Wayne State University Medical School I decided to continue to practice medicine and to serve the community by joining Detroit Community Health Connection. Since 2008 my practice has been concentrated on patients with HIV infection, sexually transmitted infections and other infectious diseases. Being the clinic director for HIV infections, I take care of little over 200 patients. With the variety of potent antiretroviral agents, 90% of my patients are doing very well despite the COVID 19 pandemic.Eighty percent of these have undetectable viral load. The number of newly diagnosed HIV patients has decreased significantly over the last few months.
