The mission of ABPath is to serve the public and advance the profession of pathology by setting certification standards and promoting lifelong competency of pathologists.
Dermatopathology is a joint subspecialty of dermatology and pathology or surgical pathology that focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at a microscopic and molecular level. It also encompasses analyses of the potential causes of skin diseases at a basic level. Dermatopathologists are doctors who use microscopes to look at samples of skin, hair, and nails to diagnose diseases.
