Get to know Biological Dentist Dr. Amy Khajavi, who serves patients in San Diego, California.
At Center For Ceramic Dental Implants, Dr. Khajavi, a highly respected dentist of more than two decades and a specialist in full mouth reconstruction and implant dentistry, incorporates biological dentistry at her dental clinic and uses safe and biocompatible materials in all her dental procedures.
Through her Rosarito office, the professional sees patients for routine cleanings and cosmetic dentistry services as well as more serious issues such as temporomandibular joint TMJ dysfunction and neuromuscular problems. Over the years, Dr. Khajavi has transitioned her practice to cater more toward implant dentistry. She continues to serve as director of clinic responsibilities.
In the United States, Dr. Khajavi is also the Owner & Operator of All Natural Dentistry in San Diego, California. She is one of the few dentists that provides patients with full mouth reconstruction whereby both implants and crowns are metal free – ceramic zirconia.
A holistic dental office, All Natural Dentistry only uses non-metal biocompatible materials in its dental procedures such as the surgical placement of zirconia dental implants, which is carried out using 3D technology and a fabricated surgical guide after putting the patient under IV Sedation or the supervision of a general anesthesiologist.
One of the reasons the dental office is respected in the community is that it uses PRGF or Protein Rich Growth Factor, which is obtained from the patient’s blood and significantly improves soft tissue healing. Moreover, the bone graft used is a combination of PRGF stem cells and synthetic Swiss-made Bio-Oss.
A distinguished Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Khajavi completed her Master of Science degree in Microbiology and went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Oregon Health Sciences University. Her post-doctoral education involved training under two world-renowned prosthodontists: Dr. Ueno Hiroshi and Dr. Bob Jankelson. After five years of training in the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics, she attained a Mastership in craniomandibular orthopedics of the jaw.
Her skill and experience in full mouth rehabilitation has earned her several awards, including “Excellence in Full Mouth Rehabilitation” from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry in 2002. In 2003, she was named “A Highly Dedicated and Master Clinician” by the same institute. Dr. Khajavi also studied implantology for a further two years, was awarded with a prestigious Fellowship by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and considers metal-free ceramic dental implants a better alternative to titanium implants.
Holistic dentistry is the practice of diagnosing, preventing, treating, and maintaining oral health using natural therapies. A biological dentist assesses a patient’s entire state of physical and emotional health before deciding on treatments.
Away from work, Dr. Khajavi enjoys reading and catching up on her favorite television series. In addition, she is a dancing enthusiast. A certified Zumba instructor for women, she also frequently supports the abused women and children. Moreover, she helps the disabled children through her dentistry.
