Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Vinson K. Diep, who serves patients in Honolulu, Hawaii.

A caring pediatrician, Dr. Diep works with patients at his private practice in Honolulu, Hawaii. He specializes in the health care of children, teenagers, and young adults up to age 21.

Among his other roles, he can be found on staff at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Diep graduated from Kalani High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Portland in Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He then returned home to attend the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine for medical school and then completed his pediatric residency at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, while also having served as pediatric chief resident.

A member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Hawaii Chapter, he is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Diep enjoys playing with his dog Koby (lab mix), as well as watching and cheering on his sports teams: the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Rams, and the University of Hawaii basketball and football teams. He speaks English and conversational Cantonese.
