An Indian native, he graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Guntur Medical College in 1981. After relocating to the United States, he completed his Master of Science degree in Microbiology and his residency in neurology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1986 and 1994, respectively. Later, he completed his fellowship in neuroimmunology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1996.
A member of the American Academy of Neurology, the doctor attained board certification in neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.
