Get to know Dentist Dr. Baleigh A. Salvino, who serves patients in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Dr. Salvino is a general dentist specializing in restorative, cosmetic, and family dentistry at Hinsdale Dental in Illinois. Her favorite part about dentistry is restoring both function and confidence in her patients’ smiles.

Hinsdale Dental works with their patients to achieve and maintain a beautiful smile and healthier gums and teeth. They take the time to explain their treatment options and inform them of additional preventative care. They feel this will lead to a more trusting doctor/patient relationship and, for many people, relieve the stress about seeing a dentist.

Completing her undergraduate education at Butler University, where she studied biology, chemistry, and Spanish, Dr. Salvino graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified by the American Board of Dental Examiners, whose mission is to develop clinical licensure exams for dental professionals.

On a professional level, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Academy of Women Dentists. 

During her academic career, Dr. Salvino was placed on the Dean’s List for Academic Excellence and was involved in several student-led organizations. She served as the Chairman of the Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic, which provided care at no cost to qualified patients in need, and participated in the SEAL Indiana program, which offers free dental sealants to elementary school children via a mobile dental clinic.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

In order to give back to the community, Dr. Salvino joins her husband and his family in the annual Hands and Feet Medical Mission trip to rural and impoverished villages in Costa Rica each summer. Along with Chicagoland physicians, nurses, podiatrists, optometrists, and others, she teams up with Costa Rica’s Conexion Missionary organization to provide care to those in desperate need of medical and dental attention.

On a more personal note, she and her husband, Ryan, live in his hometown of Burr Ridge. She loves reading, cooking, and exploring new restaurants with her family, friends, and dog, Penny.
