As a former professional ballet dancer, she was inspired to combine her two passions: art and medicine. She became intrigued by the art of combining aesthetics, a delicate touch, and medical knowledge in order to practice cosmetics and plastic surgery.
After graduating with high honors and obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Human Biology from Chapman University in Orange County, Ivanna pursued her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from MCPHS University in Boston, Massachusetts. She was granted the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation with Dr. Juris Bunkis at Orange County Plastic Surgery during her schooling.
A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. PAs are medical professionals, educated in the medical model to complement physician training, and assist the physician in many aspects of the practice. PAs are trained to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery.
