Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Joseph Vaisman, who serves patients in Thousand Oaks, California.

Dr. Vaisman is a diligent anesthesiologist who manages patient pain levels before, during, and after surgical procedures. Since November of 2014, he can be found on staff at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California.

Los Robles Regional Medical Center is a 382-bed acute care hospital dedicated to serving the residents of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties and the Greater Conejo Valley and its surrounding communities. Its mission states: “Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. A 2010 graduate of the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, Dr. Vaisman went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine in 2012. He then furthered his training with an additional residency in anesthesiology at LAC+USC Medical Center in 2014.

Ensuring the safety of patients who are about to undergo surgery, the doctor is board-certified in  anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

Staying up to date in his field, Dr. Vaisman remains an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Medical Association.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.
