Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Camile Hexsel, who serves patients in Glendale, Wisconsin.

A prominent dermatologist, Dr. Hexsel is affiliated with Madison Medical River Woods Outpatient Center in Glendale, Wisconsin. She specializes in Mohs surgery.

“I have a visual memory, I am detail oriented and a perfectionist, which led me to pursue dermatology. I also like procedures and dermatopathology, which lead me to pursue advanced subspecialty training in Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. I treat people in my care as I would want to be treated if I were in their place and strive to provide the best possible care and experience to my patients. Curing cancers while getting to know patients during their care and learning from their life experience are all very rewarding aspects of my job” expressed the doctor.

A native of Brazil, Dr. Hexsel earned her medical degree from the University of Passo Fundo in 2004. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan. She went on to complete a fellowship in cosmetic dermatology at the Hexsel Dermatology Clinics in Brazil in 2012, and completed a fellowship in Mohs surgery and oncology at Methodist Hospital.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), she is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, which is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology. 

Among her professional affiliations, she is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the International Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She has published and presented on dermatology and dermatologic surgery-related topics nationally and internationally.

Active in academia, Dr. Hexsel serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
