Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Hamula graduated from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital. During his residency, he was named Executive Chief Resident, won the Ralph Luskin Senior Resident Teaching Award, and provided orthopedic relief services on an internationally sponsored trip to Haiti. He then went on to serve his fellowship in sports medicine at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, California.
On a professional level, he is a proud member of several organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Latino Medical Student Association.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hamula has served as a team physician for the United States Men’s National Soccer Team, L.A. Galaxy, as well as for the L.A. Sparks and Loyola Marymount University teams. He also provides mentorship and guidance for medical students.
Active in research, he has published his work in numerous medical journals, including the American Journal of Sports Medicine, the Journal of Arthroplasty, and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He has presented and lectured at medical meetings for the Eastern Orthopedic Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, International Society for Hip Arthroscopy, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
