  • Should I wear a bra to the chiropractor?

There should be no problem wearing a bra to your Chiropractor. If this is your initial visit and he needs to do a physical exam he may have you remove it, and put on a patient gown. Also, if x-rays are to be taken, the bra might have to be removed if it is in the area of imaging. READ MORE

Get to know Chiropractor Dr. Joseph G. Morelli Jr., who serves patients in Waipahu, Hawaii.

Dr. Morelli is the Founder of Waipahu Chiropractic Clinic in Hawaii. Serving Waipahu and the island of Oahu, he offers services to patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors. Besides the general neck and back pain complaints, his special focus include: carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatic neuritis, extremity conditions, family practice, whiplash, temporomandibular joint, auto accident care, and on the job injury care. He also offers specialized Low Level Laser treatments that can really enhance outcomes on especially difficult and chronic conditions. Dr. Morelli also fits patients with custom shoe orthotics for foot, ankle, knee and spinal related conditions.

Unlike conventional medicine, which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Waipahu Chiropractic Clinic emphasizes improving your health in an effort to reduce the risk of pain and illness in the first place. Most people would rather be healthy and avoid illness, if they can.

The primary reason patients come to see Dr. Morelli is, they have a condition that they or their family doctor has not been able to help without possibly using strong pain medications and other potentially harmful approaches. The primary treatment at Waipahu Chiropractic Clinic is utilizing procedures and treatments that do not require medications and invasive procedures.

For many of our patients, once their primary condition has been resolved, they often follow up for occasional wellness visits. The goal is to keep healthy and to minimize the return of their original condition. Since many of the problems seen in the clinic are chronic in nature, the main goal after getting the problem to stabilize, is to do what is possible to minimize a flair up or return of severity of symptoms.

Dr. Morelli will review your current lifestyle and daily physical postures. How you sleep; your sitting and work postures; what physical activities that can exacerbate or contribute to your condition. Then, he offers suggestions to mitigate some of the negatives that he sees in your everyday physical activities, i.e.: proper sitting and driving positions; proper sleeping positions, with bed, mattress and pillow recommendations. He will often review the proper application of heat or ice packs dependent on the condition. Dr. Morelli will review the proper supportive exercising and stretching routines that can assist in resolve of the condition and enhance activities of daily living in the future.

Your initial visit with Dr. Morelli is very important. He will spend the time with you to get to know your history and what may be the underlying bases of your primary complaints and how it is affecting your general life and health. He believes this initial time spent is just as important as the treatment to follow.

Dr. Joseph G. Morelli, Jr., was born and raised in Philadelphia, after earning his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph’s University in 1975, he went on to obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1978.

In addition to being a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors, the doctor is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Hawaii State Chiropractic Association (former President). He is also a former Dist. 7 Governor on the American Chiropractic Association Board of Governors, representing Hawaii, Nevada, California, Guam, Saipan, Mariana Islands, and American Samoa (from 2008 until 2015).

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain and back pain. The aim is to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by addressing the body’s musculoskeletal structure with the goal of enhancing the body’s ability to heal itself without the use of medication or surgery.
