Expert in Critical Care Neurology Enhances Patient Care with Extensive Training and Multilingual Skills

A board-certified neurologist, Dr. Fillmore is a neuro-intensivist, critical care epileptologist, and Interim Stroke Medical Director at the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is passionate about improving outcomes for patients experiencing neurological emergencies, including stroke and seizure disorders. 

As Interim Stroke Medical Director, he leads efforts to enhance stroke protocols and patient care pathways, further solidifying Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center's commitment to excellence in neurology services.

Academically, his extensive training includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, followed by earning his medical degree from the AUA College of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and further specialized through fellowships in neurocritical care at UC Irvine Medical Center, and epilepsy at Yale-New Haven Medical Center.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with additional certifications in Neurocritical Care, Critical Care EEG, and Epilepsy Monitoring through the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Fillmore serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he contributes to the education and training of future neurologists. His commitment to advancing medical knowledge and practice is evident through his involvement in both patient care and academia.

Fluent in English, Spanish, Filipino, and Tagalog, Dr. Fillmore is dedicated to providing compassionate and culturally competent care to diverse patient populations. His multilingual skills enhance communication with patients and families, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and understanding during critical health situations.
