Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in psychiatry at St. Louis University and subsequently trained at the University of South Florida for her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.

She is board-certified in psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
