A board certified internist, Dr. Mumtaz had been serving as an internist since March 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. She is currently a rheumatology fellow at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, since July 2023. 

Her journey in medicine began when she earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery Degree from The Aga Khan University in Pakistan in 2014. Dr. Mumtaz subsequently completed her internship in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2018.

Continuing her medical education and training, she pursued a residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, Fresno from 2018 to 2020. Following her residency, Dr. Mumtaz worked as a hospitalist at St. Vincent’s Health System from 2021 to 2023. 

Her commitment to research and further specialization led her to serve as a research fellow trainee in transplant immunology with Mayo Clinic, Florida from March 2022 to June 2023.

In addition to her extensive medical background, Dr. Mumtaz holds board certification in internal medicine and is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Demonstrating her commitment to providing advanced care to her patients, Dr. Mumtaz is also certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association.
