As a board certified family physician and Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Dr. Maldonado boasts a proven track record of collaboration with both public and private entities on a global scale.
Presently, he holds the position of Chief Medical Informatics Officer at the US Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. In this capacity, he also serves as Chairman of the Impaired Healthcare Provider Program and as Chairman of the Code Blue Committee.
Originally from San Diego, California, Dr. Maldonado earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in General Chemistry from California State University-Dominguez Hills in 2009. Following this undergraduate program, from 2010 to 2014, he attended the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he earned his Medical Degree.
Subsequently, from December 2016 to September 2020, Dr. Maldonado undertook Joint Professional Military Education in the U.S. Naval War College. Continuing his educational journey, he is currently in the process of acquiring his Master of Business Administration Degree with a specialization in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Touro University Worldwide.
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Maldonado is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
