At Vita Nova Massage, which translates to "New Life," I offer a deep full-body fusion massage experience for clients wanting pain relief while feeling nurtured and at home in their bodies. I have created a very unique style of massage where I use my legs as much as my arms which allows me to simultaneously massage different areas of the body. I may sit, lean, and get over and under my clients for a lovely combination of movement, stretching, and massaging. All of which helps to integrate the nervous system with my soft tissue work. I also check in and inform my clients throughout their sessions to make sure that they are comfortable.
About me: I have been a therapist for seven years and have studied under many different teachers. During this time, I have created my own style of massage that not only provides one of the most relaxing and therapeutic experiences for my clients but also helps them to feel more comfortable and at peace in their bodies. This has become the dominant theme of my bodywork as I have worked through my personal issues stemming from unwanted and traumatic touch experiences in my early life. By learning, receiving, and giving this style of massage, I have made a lot of progress in my healing journey and helped many other people make similar progress with theirs.
*I do not bill insurance, but I accept HSA and FSA cards. And all appointments get scheduled through my website.

Is there such a thing as "too much pressure" in massage therapy?
Hello, Thank you for your email. There is no evidence to support a no pain, no gain approach. And too much pressure can damage your tissues. The clients who experience relief from painful massages could be influenced by that massage therapists narrative or the techniques supposed benefits aka placebo effect. Theres nothing wrong with a hurt so good type of pressure but if youre flinching a lot or in pain then let the therapist know. If the next day youre so sore that youre stiff, have bruises, or even feel sick then it was too much. I have clients who feel better after receiving light, medium, or firm pressure massages. And so it should be about what feels good to you. Respectfully, Toni Ramirez READ MORE
Why is it recommended to drink water after a massage?
The wellness industry claims that massage therapy can flush toxins. And drinking water helps detoxify the body after the session. Its a myth that unfortunately keeps circulating. Your liver and kidneys do this already. Here is a link to an article with more detailed information and reputable sources: https://www.painscience.com/articles/drinking-water-after-massage.php Respectfully, Toni Ramirez READ MORE
