Board Certified and fellowship trained Brain Injury Rehabilitation Physician Dr. Jayarathne Kottage currently practices with his private practice Care Way Rehabilitation. Care Way Rehabilitation has over 18 years of experience and extensive industry expertise, Care Way Rehabilitation and provides physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

Dr. Kottage graduated with his medical degree from the University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka in 1992, giving him over two decades of experience in his field. After relocating to the United States, he completed his internship with the Cornell University Medical College Program. He then completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency with the University of Missouri. Furthering his training he completed his Brain Injury Rehabilitation Medicine fellowship with the New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Kottage is certified by the State of Virginia and Maryland. He is certified in Brain Injury Rehabilitation Medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

To stay up to date in his field, he remains a professional member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, ACRM is a global community of both researchers and consumers of research, in the field of rehabilitation. ACRM is the only professional association representing all members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Additionally, he is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, they are the national medical specialty organization representing more than 9,000 physicians who are specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). PM&R physicians, also known as physiatrists, treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Physiatrists utilize cutting‐edge as well as time‐tested treatments to maximize function and quality of life.
