Get to know Allergist and Immunologist Dr. Susan E. Cocke, who serves patients in Brea, California.

Dr. Cocke is a board-certified allergist and immunologist whose areas of interest include allergies, asthma, eczema, hives, infections, sinusitis, acupuncture, integrative holistic medicine, wellness, and more. In addition to her affiliation with St. Jude Affiliated Physician and St. Jude Heritage Medical Group, she practices at Brea – Allergy & Asthma, which is a part of St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare.

Her goal is to recognize a patient’s vulnerability to a disease or illness and to help them avoid related problems and maintain good health.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1989 when she earned her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She then went on to complete her internship and residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by her fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Foundation Hospitals. 

With a passion for her field and an unwavering commitment to her specialty, Dr. Cocke is board-certified in allergy and immunology and pediatric allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). A conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, the ABAI establishes qualifications and examines physicians to become recognized specialists in allergy and immunology. 

The field of allergy and immunology involves the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist and immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency.

In her personal life, Dr. Cocke enjoys spending time with her children, reading, running, working out, and studying different medical techniques. All of her four children are competitive athletes, with a focus on soccer and cheerleading.
