Get to know Family Physician Dr. Shantal Nicole Villalobos, who serves patients in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A devoted family physician specializing in HIV medicine, Dr. Villalobos is affiliated with the East Liberty Family Health Care Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

For 40 years, the East Liberty Family Health Care Center has provided quality “whole-person” healthcare for all people, without regard to ability to pay. It has grown from a three-room office in a church basement to a full-service health care center with three locations. Every activity of the center is focused on meeting the whole-person health care needs of Pittsburgh’s East End.

In regards to her educational background, Dr. Villalobos earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2017. She then went on to complete her residency in family medicine at UPMC McKeesport Hospital in 2021.

Recognized by the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV Specialist (AAHIVS), the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
