With a deep commitment to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, Dr. Shah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his practice.
Dr. Shah, who earned his Medical Degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2015, completed his residency at UC Irvine Health from 2015 to 2020 and pursued a fellowship at Henry Ford Health System from 2020 to 2021. His extensive training has equipped him with specialized skills in both non-surgical and surgical treatments for a variety of conditions, particularly those affecting athletes.
“Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to helping athletes and active individuals recover from injuries and return to their sports,” said Dr. Shah. His clinical interests encompass a broad range of orthopedic issues, including fracture care, degenerative arthritis, and advanced procedures such as upper and lower extremity ligament repairs, rotator cuff repairs, and cartilage restoration. He also utilizes innovative techniques like Platelet Rich Plasma and Bone Marrow Aspirate to enhance recovery.
Dr. Shah’s journey into orthopedic surgery was inspired by his active lifestyle. Having played three varsity sports in high school and collegiate basketball, he experienced firsthand the impact of surgical intervention following an injury. This pivotal moment fueled his desire to combine his passions for sports and medicine, ultimately shaping his career.
Dr. Shah’s philosophy of care centers around patient education and understanding. “I discuss and explore all non-surgical and surgical options before helping my patients make informed decisions so that they can best achieve their individual goals,” he explained. Dr. Shah believes that establishing trust and teamwork with his patients is essential for achieving optimal outcomes.
The most rewarding aspect of Dr. Shah’s practice is witnessing athletes return to their respective sports. “Additionally, getting people back to work and folks back to their activities and hobbies brings a similar level of satisfaction,” he added. “I truly believe that movement is life and getting people moving again is my purpose.”
In his free time, Dr. Shah remains active, playing basketball weekly and participating in various sports leagues, which further fuels his commitment to orthopedic medicine. His dedication to maintaining an active lifestyle not only inspires his practice but also enhances his empathy and understanding as a physician.
