Get to know Concierge Family Physician Dr. Lorna Jane Fedelem, who serves patients in Naples, Florida.
Dr. Fedelem is a board-certified family physician with a special focus in women’s health and geriatric medicine. She founded Lorna Fedelem, MD and Associates, a Ms.Medicine practice, in the Fall of 2020. Ms.Medicine is a national concierge primary care medicine model for women and men.
As a primary care physician, Dr. Fedelem helps her patients to manage chronic health issues, as well as focus on prevention and overall wellness. Her practice centers on cardiovascular disease prevention, osteoporosis diagnosis and treatment, cancer risk assessment, and stroke and diabetes education and management. She uses a comprehensive approach that focuses on lifestyle management and prevention.
She also has experience managing all aspects of internal medicine including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, post-stroke care, COPD, sleep apnea, obesity, and cancer treatment. She works closely with consultants in all areas of medicine, including cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, oncology, infectious disease, gastroenterology, and radiology.
Following graduation from Florida State University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree, Dr. Fedelem obtained her Medical Degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine in 2005 as a member of the inaugural graduating class. She completed her residency in family medicine at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Prior to launching her independent concierge practice, Dr. Fedelem served as a hospitalist in Tallahassee, Florida and, most recently, Orlando, Florida with Orlando Regional Medical Center. There she managed a 16 bed Critical Care Step-down Unit, where she cared for medically complex critically ill patients for 3 years.
With years of experience managing nursing home and rehabilitation patients, coupled with over 12 years of inpatient hospital experience, Dr. Fedelem has unique insight into how to best care for clinic patients to keep them healthy and out of the hospital. She also believes that knowledge is the key to success and strives to educate and empower her patients to live their best lives.
An expert in her field, she is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
Born and raised in Naples, Florida, Dr. Fedelem loves to spend time with family and friends on the beautiful sandy beaches of her hometown. She has 2 young boys that keep her on her toes with horseback riding and taekwondo. She loves watching musicals and college football and was in the FSU Marching Chiefs for 4 years.
