Get to know Hand, Plastic, and Extremity Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Natalia Fullerton, who serves patients in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Fullerton is a dual board-certified plastic surgeon and hand surgeon affiliated with the University of Miami Health System. Her focus is in hand surgery and soft tissue reconstruction of the extremities. She operates out of the following locations: UHealth at Kendall, UHealth Tower West, and UHealth Tower.

Her specialties include hand surgery, plastic surgery, and reconstructive plastic surgery. She sees age groups including infants and toddlers (ages 0-2), children (ages 3-11), adolescents (ages 12-18), adults, and geriatrics (ages 70+).

A 2012 graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College, Dr. Fullerton went on to perform her residency in plastic & reconstructive surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell University in 2018. She then furthered her training with an orthopedic fellowship in hand & upper extremity at Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2019.

Researching hand and extrmeity  trauma outcomes, she is board-certified in plastic surgery & surgery of the hand by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. Its mission is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

As for her academic titles, Dr. Fullerton serves as an Assistant Professor with dual appointments in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Division of Hand Surgery, and the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.

Hand surgeons are orthopedic, plastic, or general surgeons who dedicate a substantial portion of their practice to treatment of the hand and upper extremity. Many hand surgeons treat conditions of the fingers, hands, wrists, forearms, and elbows. Plastic surgeons who specialize in the reconstruction of the extremities, focus on the complex soft tissue reconstruction of the upper and lower limbs from conditions due to cancer, disease process, or trauma.
