Get to know Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Anthony Brothers, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.
Dr. Brothers is an orthopaedic surgery specialist in Okaloosa County. He is currently a part of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Florida. He also offers his services at Andrews Institute – Fort Walton Beach & Baptist Medical Park – Navarre, as well as performs surgery at the Andrews Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center and Gulf Breeze Hospital.
Possessing extensive experience with joint replacement surgeries of the hip, knee and shoulder, Dr. Brothers uses the latest technology, including that of robotics, to perform surgeries allowing his patients a faster, smoother recovery. He also specializes in sports medicine injuries, minor hand procedures and has significant trauma surgery experience.
Back in 1994, Dr. Brothers graduated with his medical degree from the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He then went on to perform a surgical internship in general surgery at David Grant Medical Center, and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of California, San Diego.
Board-certified in orthopaedic surgery, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
During his 24 years in the Air Force, Dr. Brothers served as Chief of Orthopaedics and as Chief of Surgery, was deployed to Afghanistan twice, and received two Army Commendation Medals. The last eleven years of his time in the Air Force, he was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base.
His current society memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.
