Dr. Howard T. Katz, a distinguished physician, is at the forefront of neurorehabilitation at Hammond Place, providing innovative care and leadership. As Medical Director of NeuroRestorative at Hammond Place, Dr. Katz is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients recovering from neurological injuries and conditions.

In addition to his role at Hammond Place, Dr. Katz serves as Medical Director for several rehabilitation programs throughout the region, including 360 Total Rehab, Southern Healthcare Agency, Inc., REMED of Louisiana, TASS Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Mid South Rehab Services, Inc., Neuro RehabCare Hammond, NeuroRehab Care TASS, and TASS Stroke & Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center. His leadership in these programs demonstrates his commitment to delivering comprehensive and effective rehabilitation services.

Dr. Katz, a Memphis, Tennessee native, has a robust educational background that underpins his expertise in the field. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, followed by a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. His extensive training and experience position him as a leading authority on rehabilitation, particularly in spinal cord injury and brain injury medicine.

Dr. Katz’s clinical excellence is recognized through his board certifications in physical medicine and rehabilitation, spinal cord injury medicine, and brain injury medicine. He is also certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, showcasing his dedication to maintaining the highest standards in medical practice. 

Moreover, Dr. Katz is an active member of several professional associations, including the American Medical Association, the Brain Injury Association of Mississippi/United Spinal Association MS Chapter (where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors), the American Spinal Injury Association, the American Academy of Home Care Medicine, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Southern Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.
