As an interventional radiologist, Dr. Palmer is passionate about interventional oncology and the ever-evolving options it brings to cancer patients, adding a valuable dimension to the team at Catawba Radiology.

Established in 1950, Catawba Radiology is recognized today as the expert providers of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services in the Unifour and surrounding area.  The practice is committed to the delivery of exceptional care with every patient encounter, staying up-to-date with the most advanced technology related to the specialty, and enthusiastic support of the community it serves through active involvement.

A 2014 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Palmer went on to perform his internship in surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015. Subsequently, he served his residency in radiology at the University of South Alabama in 2019, and his fellowship in interventional radiology at Vanderbilt University in 2020.

Board eligible in diagnostic radiology, Dr. Palmer is in the process of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Apart from his responsibilities at Catawba Radiology, Dr. Palmer also holds a position on staff at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, North Carolina.

Interventional radiology is a medical specialization that involves performing a range of imaging and therapeutic procedures to diagnose and treat many clinical problems. Vascular & interventional radiologists focus on diseases of the blood vessels and lymphatic system, but also treat other conditions such as cancer and infertility.
