Get to know Interventional Neurologist Dr. Jazba Soomro, who serves patients in Plano, Texas.

A Texas-based interventional neurologist, Dr. Soomro is in practice at Texas Stroke Institute – Plano. She strives on practicing patient centered care and incorporates evidence based medicine in her clinical decision making.

The Texas Stroke Institute is the first comprehensive brain attack system of care in North Texas encompassing three certified and designated Comprehensive Stroke Centers and seven certified and designated Primary Stroke Centers. It treats patients with the most advanced, minimally invasive endovascular procedures and imaging techniques for the treatment of stroke and neurovascular disorders. A native of Pakistan, Dr. Soomro graduated with her medical degree from the Jinnah Medical & Dental College in 2008. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in neurology at Saint Louis University, and subsequently finished a two year fellowship in vascular neurology combined with a National Institute of Health funded research year at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. She joined Texas Stroke Institute in 2018, and completed her fellowship in interventional neurology in 2020.

An expert in her field, the doctor is board-certified in neurology, vascular neurology, and neuro-critical care by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
