Dr. Gardner, a board-certified endocrinologist, is the Founder of Memorial City Endocrine Consultants in Houston, Texas. Having been serving the endocrine needs of the West Houston area for over 20 years, he and his staff provide expert care for diabetes, as well as thyroid and endocrine disorders. Some of their other interests include osteoporosis and hyperlipidemia.

With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a member of the Endocrine Society and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.  

A 1973 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Gardner completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University. He subsequently obtained his fellowship training in endocrinology at the University of Florida. After serving on the faculty of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he opened his private practice in 1986. 

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, as well as adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders, among others.
