How to reduce the pain due to ankle sprain?
If the pain hasn't gotten ay better at all after the first few days after the injury, you should have it X-rayed to make sure there isn't a fracture. If it is, in fact a sprain, you should purchase a lace up ankle brace from a sporting goods store and wear it all the time. Continue with ice whenever possible. Dr. Murphy completed his undergraduate degree at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Thereafter, he went on to earn his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Murphy completed his residency at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan – where he learned many of the latest and most cutting-edge surgical techniques in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Murphy is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS). The ACFAS is a professional medical society of foot and ankle surgeons in the United States. Each of the over 6,000 members have graduated from one of nine podiatry schools in the US with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree.
Dr. Murphy is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). The ABFAS strives to protect and to improve the health and welfare of the public by advancing the art and science of foot and ankle surgery.
