Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Annessa Kernberg, who serves patients in St. Louis, Missouri.

A skilled obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Kernberg is currently a 3rd year Fellow in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. She is looking forward to working in an academic center, and is interested in clinical informatics and clinical technology to optimize patient care.

Back in the early days of her academic career, she graduated from Stanford University, and received her medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology from the Oregon Health and Sciences University.

Subsequently, Dr. Kernberg chose the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at the Washington University School of Medicine because of the outstanding clinical training, academic atmosphere, and excellence in research. She is currently creating a cesarean section bundle in hopes of lower postoperative surgical site infections.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
