  • Can acupuncture help ankle pain?

Good Question, Yes, acupuncturist can help ankle pain. If there is a fractured ankle electostimulation with the needles works best. Releasing Substance P, can assist with bone health and accelerate the healing. If it is a sprain, Acupuncture with or without electostimulation is appropriate. Both modalities will reduce inflammation and reduce pain. Sincerely, Laura Ellis, LAc READ MORE

  • What pressure point relieves stomach pain?

Good Afternoon, The best acupuncture point for stomach pain is Stomach 36. It is the command point of the stomach. Other points you can use are Ren 12, and Stomach 25. Stomach 36 is 3 finger length or cun under the kneecap. Ren 4 is 4 cun above the umbilicus. Stomach 25 is 2 cun lateral from the umbilicus. Rub each point lightly in a clockwise direction. Slowly increase the pressure. You will be using what is called acupressure. Wishing you good health! Acupuncture is a form of alternative  medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique in which thin needles are inserted into the body and in some cases, electro-stimulation is applied to gently stimulate particular regions of the body. Acupuncture is also used to maintain general health and well-being. Acupuncturists treat a variety of health concerns including women’s health/fertility, autoimmune disorders, digestive disorders, joint and muscle pain, insomnia, and emotional concerns such as stress management, anxiety & depression.

When Dr. Ellis isn’t treating patients, she enjoys serving at her church, exercising, and reading.
