Get to know Radiation Oncologist Dr. Sanjeev Bahri, who serves patients in Greensburg and Monroeville, Pennsylvania.

Named a Top Doctor by Pittsburgh Magazine, Dr. Bahri is a trained radiation oncologist whose special interest is in prostate brachytherapy (both HDR and LDR) & management of lung, head and neck, and lymphoma malignancies. 

He provides oversight and supervision of clinical radiation oncology at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Arnold Palmer Pavilion, Greensburg & at UPMC East, where he is Chairman of Radiation Oncology. He is actively involved with clinical patient management at both the facilities.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine in 1991. He then went on to perform his residency in radiation oncology at Strong Memorial Hospital in 1996.

A true asset to his field, Dr. Bahri is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The mission of the ABR is to serve patients, the public, and the medical profession by certifying that its diplomates have acquired, demonstrated, and maintained a requisite standard of knowledge, skill, and understanding essential to the safe and competent practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Bahri is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology Oncology.

Since 1995, he has been serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. 

Radiation oncology is a medical specialty that involves the controlled use of radiation to treat cancer. It is one of the three primary specialties, the other two being surgical and medical oncology, involved in the treatment of cancer. A radiation oncologist is a specialist physician who uses ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer.
