Get to know Family Physician Dr. Winston Henry Griner Sr., who serves patients in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Dr. Griner Sr. is an experienced family physician and the Medical Director of Affordable & Restorative Health in Nashville, Tennessee.

As such, he offers primary care services for patients ages 12 years and older, telehealth services, diagnostic lab work, as well as in-house self-care products to help manage common health issues and symptoms. 

Academically, Dr. Griner earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) before graduating with his medical degree from Meharry Medical College. He then studied in the Department of Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and completed a health systems management program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.

Prior to opening Affordable & Restorative Health, Dr. Griner Sr. served as an assistant professor in the Department of Family Practice at Meharry Medical College and as an adjunct professor at UMBC’s Department of Biology. He also worked at several hospitals throughout Tennessee as a geriatric staff physician, family medicine physician, and medical director.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians, Dr. Griner Sr. is a member of the Tennessee Society of Addiction Medicine and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. 

In addition, he is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the American Board of Family Medicine.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
