Dedicated Professional Brings Expertise in Complex Trauma, Narcissistic Abuse, and Perinatal Mental Health to the Community

With a passion for mental health and a commitment to helping individuals navigate through life’s challenges, Saskia is making a significant impact as a psychotherapist serving individuals in New York and New Jersey. Saskia specializes in treating complex/developmental trauma, depression, anxiety, perinatal mental health, narcissistic abuse and relational conflict.

Saskia utilizes a wide range of modalities in her work, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Coherence Therapy, and EMDR. Additionally, Saskia has three years of experience working with parents during the perinatal period, and has completed all of the required training for the PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification).

Saskia looks at problematic patterns in complex trauma through an adaptive lens, and believes that many of the problems individuals face in the present moment began as adaptive methods aimed at keeping them safe and connected in childhood. When healing these patterns, Saskia utilizes bottom up and experiential modalities of therapy. These types of modalities enable the therapy to go beyond traditional cognitive insight and analysis, and focus on altering the emotional and implicit learnings that lie at the root of harmful coping patterns.

Having completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Middlebury College in 2016, Saskia continued her education at Columbia University, where she obtained a degree in Clinical Social Work and Psychotherapy in 2019. Saskia has six years of experience working with Adults 18+, and is passionate about providing a non judgemental space where patients are treated with unconditional positive regard and compassion. Through her expertise, compassion, and commitment to mental health, Saskia is truly making a difference in the Cedar Grove community and beyond.
