Dr. Ghatan graduated with honors from UCSD, where he received his degree in human biology and conducted extensive laboratory research. His research in neuroscience was internationally published in the prestigious scientific journal, Nature. He then obtained his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences where he also volunteered in various humanitarian efforts. 

Dr. Ghatan pursued his internship in General Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he navigated complex cases with precision and compassion. After completing his surgical internship, Dr. Ghatan also attended UCLA for his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation where he further solidified his dedication to holistic patient care. A distinguished  Bruin, Dr. Ghatan also completed his fellowship in Pain Medicine at UCLA. His extensive training at UCLA brought Dr. Ghatan to the forefront of medical advancements and he continues to be involved in medical research. 

An authority in his field, Dr. Ghatan is double board certified in Pain Medicine as well as Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Medical Specialties.
